Record attendance at Closer to Land luncheon
Three Rivers' 5th Annual Closer to Land luncheon was our biggest yet with 160 people in attendance!
This luncheon, held each at the World Forestry Center each May, brings the many faces of Three Rivers together to be inspired and raise funds for our mission.
The one hour event featured:
- a reading by Glenn Lamb from Sky Time in Gray's River by regional author Robert Michael Pyle,
- Conservation Awards to 11 landowners donating a conservation easement to Three Rivers and
- presentations by three board members: Dave Beckett, Renee Spears and Carole Kelly.
- Liz Tilbury Marquard a conservation easement donor spoke about her experience donating land.
Members from the local band, Dandy Warhols, were in attendance. They are working on a new collaborative music project, the proceeds of which will benefit Three Rivers Land Conservancy. Watch our website for more details on this project as it unfolds.
A delicious lunch was served including field greens, asparagus and roast chicken.
160 people attended the event and our sponsor Rose City Mortgage www.rosecitymortgage.com contributed the cost for the lunch. Funds from this event support our 1,000 Acre Challenge. If you want to support our 1,000 Acre Challenge please email jcronlund@trlc.org for more details.
