Private landowners conserve 37 million acres

Great news - the land trust movement is growing! The Land Trust Alliance recently released a new report showing a 54% increase in total acres conserved in the U.S. since 2000.
The 2005 National Land Trust Census Report was released by the Land Trust Alliance on November 30, 2006. There are many encouraging findings in the report which show that private landowners are shaping the future of land conservation across the country. Here at Three Rivers, we are proud to work with these landowners and continue to protect the natural areas that make our local communities so special.
